I suggested that we take a closer look and climb on the rock. As we made our way up to the rock, my husband noticed a blue box in a crevice in the rock, so we pulled it out and to our amazement, we learned about letterboxing. We had never heard of it before! We wrote a short note and signed the book, though we couldn't stamp it, since we came unprepared for that. Just happened to have a pen! Enjoy your future letterboxing!!
